What is a wire mesh skeleton pipe?

1. What is a Wire Mesh Skeleton Composite Pipe?

The wire mesh skeleton pipe, or wire mesh skeleton polyethylene composite pipe, represents an advanced piping material that combines the strengths of both steel and plastic. This innovative design enhances pressure resistance and flexibility while addressing the limitations of traditional materials.

2. Production Process

The construction of wire mesh skeleton pipes involves weaving high-strength steel wire into a mesh that serves as the structural skeleton. This skeleton is fused with thermoplastic polyethylene, primarily high-density polyethylene (HDPE製), which forms the core tube. A high-performance HDPE modified adhesive resin ensures a strong bond between the steel wire skeleton and the inner and outer polyethylene layers.

3. Characteristics

Good Creep Resistance and Mechanical Strength: The steel wire skeleton effectively mitigates the creep behavior of plastic, significantly enhancing the long-term mechanical strength of the composite pipe.

Improved Rigidity and Impact Resistance: The addition of the steel wire skeleton provides superior rigidity, impact resistance, and dimensional stability compared to pure plastic pipes.

Flexible Yet Strong Structure: The flexible nature of the wire mesh skeleton allows the composite pipe to absorb sudden impacts from ground movements, such as settlement or slippage.

– 優れた耐食性: The protective polyethylene layers offer enhanced resistance to corrosion, outperforming traditional metal pipes against chemical media like acids, alkalis, と塩.

Good Temperature Resistance: Approximately two-thirds of the strength of the wire mesh skeleton pipe is supported by the skeleton itself, resulting in minimal strength degradation (less than 5%) with 0°C increase in temperature, outperforming pure plastic pipes.
