Abyei Area is a region in Sudan with a special administrative status. South Sudan claims sovereignty over the area, but it is currently under the practical control of Sudan. Abyei connects northern and southern Sudan, rich in resources, including abundant oil reserves. Originally inhabited by the Dinka people, the area became a point of contention between the north and south due to its rich oil deposits.

This project involves the renovation of temporary residences for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei.
